Ten convicted of cyber-bullying against Brigitte Macron

A French judicial body has found guilty ten people for engaging in the cyber-bullying of Brigitte Macron, the spouse of France's leader, Emmanuel Macron.
The those on trial faced allegations of spreading untruths regarding her sex and sexuality, in addition to making malicious remarks about the couple's 24-year age gap.
The court delivered suspended prison sentences of up to eight months to the perpetrators. The complete verdict has still to be made public.
A persistent false narrative claiming that Brigitte Macron is a transgender woman has existed since her husband's initial election in 2017.
This latest legal outcome in France comes as the Macrons pursuing a defamation lawsuit in the United States of America against political commentator Candace Owens, who has also voiced comparable unfounded claims about the Brigitte Macron's gender.
Their legal filing alleges that Owens ignored all credible evidence contradicting her allegations in favour of amplify the voices of notorious conspiracy peddlers.
Owens has regularly repeated these assertions on her digital program and social networks, and in March 2024 declared that she would risk all her credibility on her insistence that Mrs. Macron was born a man.
Brigitte Macron originally became acquainted with her future husband when she was a teacher at his secondary school.
The two tied the knot in 2007, when the man who would become president was 29 and she was approximately 54 years old.
